Reflection:

George Washington’s statement is very true. He makes total sense. Education is the key to freedom. If you’re educated you become an independent person and do things on your own. Freedom is golden and education is the key to open the golden door. Education is what makes a person who they are. Without education you are isolated from the world and not completely free. Without education your mind is imprisoned and confused, in other words your mind doesn’t think freely like it should.

A good example is the African American slaves of early colonial America. They allowed themselves to be controlled by others because they didn’t have any type of education. They couldn’t read or write or speak properly. If they had been educated the chances of them being free would increase because they would be cleverer and be able to escape. Education is the key to freedom and living well. It all depends on you and your education.
