Acquiring the habits of highly successful students part3

Acquiring the habits of

Highly successful students

Part 3

Everyone wants to be successful in life, but where are the keys to success? Do we have to go out and search for those keys, or do we have those potentials already within ourselves? When we begin to examine life, we can see that it is divided into two aspects—life within and life without; internal life and external life—and we can see that these aspects are of equal importance. Even if we have renounced the world, gone far away from civilization, and live in the wilderness doing nothing but meditation, we cannot ignore external life. We still have to see that we eat, do our ambitions, and preform our practices on time. So life in the external world is as important as life in the internal world. Even one who has renounced the world has to understand the word relationship properly, because life itself is actually relationship.

“The harmful effects of smoking”

“The harmful effects of smoking”

Smoking is a very bad habit people around the world have. It kills may people but yet it’s still legal. Smoking affects your lungs and it’s very dangerous. It can cause lung cancer, or mouth cancer and diseases. It is a very filthy thing to and so many of us do it. It is one of the number 1 causes of death in the United States and many lives are lost because of smoking. It not only affects you but also the ones that surround you. People that are around you are affected by smoking because it’s transmitted by second hand smoking. Many of the people affected are kids. If the parent or any other adult smokes around them, they inhale the filthy substance and can give them breathing problems. Smoking affects all of us and the environment as well. Smoking doesn’t satisfy no one, it only kills you slowly by slowly by doing it. Smoking causes:

Ø Lung cancer

Ø Oral cancer

Ø Rotten teeth and gums

Ø Breathing problems

Ø Builds up tar in lungs

Ø Addiction

Ø Affects others around you

Don’t smoke and you won’t only save your life, but the lives of others too!

Part 2

If we are to succeed in life, we must home our learning skills.

1.        The first step in this direction is to sincerely point out the driving force of motivation. Let’s relax, and start listing the reasons that impel you to study some topic. As crude as they may be. It’s possible that you list may be empty.  Don’t worry, it only means that you have not identified any reason to study the chosen and very specific point (It’s for sure that you are an excellent learner in other areas of life.) If you don’t have any motivation to study, then give me the list of reasons why you don’t want to study, and please note that this list is empty. Whether you found a huge list of driving forces or a list of reasons for not studying, the end product of this step comprises at least one item( a positive or negative driving force)

Acquiring the habits of higly successful students part1

Acquiring the habits of

Highly successful students

Part 1
by Herrera

We humans are innate learns, as learning is the cornerstone for survival. We must remember, abstract and apply knowledge in diverse (and often harsh) environments in order to develop into and behave as truly intelligent beings. In short, the adaptability and resilience we exhibit stems from learning. Now, a key issue to learning is the driving force behind it, i.e., the motivation or stimuli to learn. We can learn because of the fear of (we want to learn how to protect ourselves from danger). We can learn just out of curiosity (our national inquisitive behavior.)We can learn simply because we want to reach some social status (approval of others is a potent stimuli to learn.) We can learn simply because we love to learn new things every day. There are a plenty of reasons to learn and you may be easily be a mixture of these. Heath and money are more important things in life, but learning is the base for using them wisely.

Student success statement

Student success statement

“Regard you good name as the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of.”

-Socrates

Reflection

I think this statement has a lot of meaning. Socrates is saying that you should consider your name very valuable like a jewel. You should keep it clean and nice. Your name makes up for a lot of who you are so try to keep your reputation straight. Try to keep your reputation clean and straight because your name is what you’re known for. If you choose the wrong your name will be ruined and people will think badly as soon as they hear it. For example Hitler, everyone knows who he is and when they hear his name they right away think of all the bad and cruel things he did. You should choose the right and be a good person. Your name would be clean and people would think well about you if you are a good person or do good things. In other words always choose the right because even something simple as your name can be ruined by the actions you make. Always choose the right and keep your name clean like a jewel.
